Description
A landscape and wildlife mural by Fairview native Christina Klein, located at the town's western gateway along US-36, next to the TA Express Travel Center (801 W 1st St). The mural pays homage to the region's landscape and wildlife, featuring a heron, a red-tailed hawk, a meadowlark, a honeybee, a firefly, and a cow (modeled by a brown Angus from her father's Fairview farm) against a north-central Kansas landscape. Klein designed the mural to look like a quilt, with different patches coming together -- an homage to the church bazaar quilts she remembers from growing up in Fairview. The mural was unveiled in September 2024. Sources for verification: https://www.travelks.com/kansas-magazine/articles/post/big-bold-beautiful-murals-across-kansas/ (KANSAS!
