Originally installed in the 1920s, this Coca-Cola mural was hand painted by an artist from Kansas City, MO. One of thousands of murals commissioned by the Coca-Cola company, their outdoor advertising campaign saturated the rural American landscape in the early 20th century.

A bottling company operated in Clay Center at this time, producing Coca-Cola as well as other beverages for the local market. This mural was restored during a Clay Center revitalization program in the 1980s by local sign painter Leland ‘Slim’ Graves.
