Keystone Gallery Mural

A colorful mural depicting the ancient Niobrara seaway accompanied our fossil display and was painted by artist Chuck Bonner. His other paintings adorn the walls of the gallery. Scenic photography by Barbara Shelton is also on display. Our gift shop not only has Monument Rocks souvenirs but U.S. and international fossils, minerals, and other items not usually found in this region—it's a collector's delight.

Keystone Gallery is found along the Western Vistas Historic Byway. The rugged landscape is just one of the perks of the culturally and visually fascinating route. You can also find traces of 'wild west' history, a plethora of fossils, and important cultural sites. The region surrounding the Byway is a geologist's and paleontologist's paradise, punctuated with unusual rock formations and among the best fossil-hunting areas in the world.
