Resurrection themed stained glass window in Kansas

Resurrection Stained Glass Window

The Church of the Resurrection's stained glass window is a groundbreaking art installation made through a combination of twenty-first century techniques with fused glass combined with the time honored tradition of stained glass that dates back to the seventh century.  It is the largest single stained glass window known to exist worldwide, spanning 100 feet in width and 35 feet in height. The design of the window is a triptych, or art in three scenes, that are intended to be appreciated together in telling the sweeping story of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation.  It features more than 70 characters who have shaped the Christian faith and social justice, leading up to modern times. The window was created with a "fused glass" technique, in which unlike traditional stained glass, the colors are not kept separated, but rather mixed and bonded in a kiln, creating effects never seen before. The window has been described as painting with light.
